Our Classroom & Teachers

Here is a picture of our classroom with one of our teachers, Jackie, at the chalkboard. Each day a different teacher from the language school comes to the Baptist Center to teach us in a small room that is used as a class room. We have four teachers total: Jackie, Constance, Salif, and Madame Campore. They are all very nice, patient and friendly. Yesterday we toured the east part of Ouagadougou with another missionary, and she took us to the school and office to see where our teachers work. (We’re glad we don’t have to go to the school every day for class, because it is really far away from where we live. It would mean two long taxi or bus rides every day!) Although our teachers were not expecting us and we interrupted their work, they displayed true African hospitality by immediately dropping what they were doing, offering us cokes and visiting with us for 45 minutes. We have really enjoyed getting to know them. They are very patient with our attempts to speak French and teach us a lot about West African culture.
