Emily and Jesse live directly across the street from us, so this next shot of our house was taken from Emily’s balcony:
This is the street we live on:
About a block down on the right is the office where we will spend most of our time. It takes about 1 ½ minutes to get there by foot -– not a bad commute!
This humble structure is our office building:
The two of us share an office on one side of the building, and Emily and Jesse share an office on the other side. (Hopefully it will look a little less sterile when we actually have stuff on our shelves, walls and desks.)
The other missionaries we work with are housed in a different building within the same compound.
So far we like it here a lot. There are malls, shopping centers, a zoo, a port and lots of other cool stuff to see and do. The downtown is huge -– a real city skyline with lots of tall buildings.
We're still trying to get moved in and set up our house, but we have officially started work and have spent most of the day at the office. It's nice to finally be doing what we came here to do!
