Drive-by Shootings

We ended up staying in Niger four days longer than planned. During that time we made a trip to a town that's 9-10 hours outside the capital city. Here's are some of the sights we captured from the truck while making the looong drive (my dad calls these types of photos "drive-by shootings"):

We passed through lots of villages with huts and graineries clustered on either side of the road.

Vans like this are used as taxis, and they are always loaded down with LOTS of luggage:
