New Team

“We have something we want to talk to you about,” Larry and Lucy said as we sat around the dining room table.

Emily, Deron and I had been working on a project together when Larry and Lucy stopped by to chat. They are neighbors and fellow missionaries who’ve served in West Africa for quite a few years.

“Oh, no,” I thought. “They decided to leave West Africa and they want to make sure we hear the news in person.”

I’m happy to say I was wrong! They were actually announcing that the media team is being incorporated into a new, larger team -– the Link Team. Larry and Lucy are the team leaders for Link, so they are my new supervisors.

We on the media team are now working alongside our region’s volunteer strategists, prayer coordinator and stateside recruiter/trainer with a more unified approach to accomplishing West Africa’s mobilization goals. Those goals are basically to:

• increase the number of short- and long-term personnel coming to West Africa
• increase the number of churches strategically involved in West Africa, including those who are part of the emerging church movement

We’re excited about this new opportunity to work more closely with colleagues whose work is similar to our own -– it’s something we’ve hoped would happen for quite some time.

Deron’s primary responsibility will continue to be Member Care, but he is also helping the Link team with a lot of projects.

Please pray for the Link Team:

• that we’ll work efficiently together even though we’re spread across three countries on two continents
• that we’ll be unified in our vision
• that our efforts will bring glory to God and result in more West Africans hearing the Gospel
