Merry Christmas!

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Brookhaven, MS, with Deron's parents, his two brothers, and their families. We went to church, made a gingerbread house, played games on Deron's new Playstation 3, ate turkey, golfed in the yard, and watched seven kids open presents! It's been really special to be with our family during the holidays.
Good News for All People

"I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people," proclaimed the angel annoucing the birth of Christ (Luke 2:10).

The Bible shows a pretty good cross-section of "all the people" right from the beginning: overwhelmed young parents; dirty, lowly shepherds; elite, wealthy Magi; a righteous man of God who'd waited decades to see his Messiah.

Today in America, all sections of society can still hear the ancient Good News. Sure, Christmas is commercialized to the point that it's more about Santa, snow globes, and sales than God's greatest gift to the world. But walk into any card shop or Christmas bazaar and you'll see something about Jesus. And the churches sitting on every other street corner would be delighted to share with anyone seeking to discover the real reason for the season.

Sadly, many people in West Africa and other parts of the world don't have that privilege. There isn't a church on every corner, or even in every town. Christmas is a day just like any other. They have no idea who Jesus is, who God really is, or that God wants to have a personal relationship with them.

That's why we serve in Africa: to make sure more people hear the Good News of Great Joy for All People.

Please join us in praying that next year, millions of people across the world will hear and respond to that Good News. Also join us in praying God will send out more missionaries, more volunteers, more churches, and more prayer supporters to help spread that message.
