Prayer Requests

Our HandsOn misionaries (Jeslyn, Josh, and JJ) have completed language study and are now serving full-time on the West Africa Media Team. It's great to have them around -- they're so fun, creative and insightful. However, more people means added responsibility for us -- we're now supervising a team of 6.5 instead of 3.5 (Deron is the half, by the way).

-- Please pray we'll have a united vision, open communication, and mutual respect as we all learn to work together.

-- The goals of all our media projects are to recruit missionaries and increase prayer support.
This week as we plan out the projects we'll be working on over the next few months, pray we'll be led toward the projects that will best accomplish those purposes.

Friday, I leave for a nine-day trip to Thailand to participate in the annual meeting of media strategists from around the world. I'm really looking forward to seeing friends and colleagues (including my parents!) and think I'll learn a lot from the sessions. Pray I'll use my time wisely so it will be a good balance of learning, fun, fellowship, and creative brainstorming.

On a personal note, please pray for Deron and I as we adjust to a much busier lifestyle. We love what we're doing, but as our responsibility increases, so does our workload and occasionally our stress level. It's becoming harder and harder to set aside quality time for "just the two of us," but we know we need it in order to keep our relationship strong. We're also increasingly aware of how dependent we are on the Lord to provide us with the discernment and energy we need moment by moment.

-- Pray we'll be able to set aside enough time to be alone with the Lord and with each other so we can stay focused and refreshed.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." Jeremiah 17:7-8
