When You See a Camel Sitting by the Roadside...

...you know you're in Niger. We saw one on the street corner, and they supposedly are quite a common sight! Hopefully we'll be able to get a few pictures eventually.

Niger is hot, dry, and dusty -- a lot like Burkina Faso...only hotter, drier, and dustier. They are desperately praying for a good rain to cool things off. This is the guest house where we are staying in Niamey, the capital city. It is pretty!

We will be here until Thursday, when we drive out to some villages to visit the "bush missionaries." Tomorrow we're attending a 4th of July picnic with all the missionaries in Niamey and some who are driving in from out of town, so that will be a great chance to meet and get to know lots of people. We also have already scored a couple of meal invitations, so that's cool!

We continue to ask for your prayers as we visit with the many missionaries who live here. Pray that we'll be sensitive to any needs and hurts we run across and have the right words to say, or at ears that are willing to listen.
