Dakar

So, here we are in Dakar, Senegal. The weather right now is amazing -- cool and dry, instead of hot and sticky like it is in Abidjan!

We've been able to touch base with lots of our colleagues who live here, and even some who are visiting from out of town. It's been good to catch up with everyone.

We also got to visit a place we've often heard about, but never actually eaten at before -- a restaurant at the western-most tip of Africa!

A popular form of public transportation in Dakar is the rapid, or mini-bus. Their paint jobs make the city, which has an overall shade of grayish-tannish-white, much more cheerful!

On Wednesday we fly to the southern part of Senegal. We're told it's much more hot and humid down there, but we're looking forward to seeing some new parts of the country, and also to visiting with some missionaries who live in very remote areas. They don't get many visits from outside personnel, so we hope our presence will be an encouragement to them!
