Superbowl Party & Other Events of the Week

One of the sad things about no longer being in our old house is that we don't have access to South African satellite TV anymore. But, our friends the McAfees do now, so Deron was still able to watch the Superbowl last weekend. It didn't start till around 11:30 pm so I was happy to skip it and go to bed, but before the game I did have fun making football-themed cupcakes with some of the missionary kids in town:

Other events of the week included:

Re-uniting with our African church family. Our friends at Treichville church were really happy to see us back in town, and we're very glad to see them, too. It's also fun to be back singing in French in a worship service that includes clapping and dancing!

Getting to know new families. Three new missionary families moved to Abidjan while we were gone, so it's been fun getting to know new friends. There are now eight kids here, so missionary life is a little livelier than it used to be!

Adjusting to the heat. It's HOT right now, and very humid. Being pregnant makes it even worse. :( But the air conditioners in our bedroom and office help us keep cool, so we're very grateful for that.

Being back in the office. After three months out, sitting at a desk for most of the day is a bit of a challenge! But we're getting back into the swing of things and our projects are going well. The main thing I'm working on is the design and layout of the next Go West Africa magazine. Deron's been busy touching base with missionary colleagues throughout the region.

How you can pray for us this week:
  • good health
  • diligence and creativity in our projects
  • discernment to spend time wisely
  • that we'll be an encouragement to all we come in contact with
