We really enjoyed getting to know these new people. Please pray for them as they are now settling into their places of service in Uganda, Mozambique, Zambia/Botswana, and South Africa. They'll be doing a variety of ministries, including university work, village ministry, media, sports outreach and True Love Waits seminars.
Pray God will allow their ministries to be fruitful and effective. Also pray they'll learn more about Him, themselves and His call on their lives as they serve these next few months.
Prayerwalking
One morning we also went prayerwalking with them through a squatter settlement. This is an area of town where immigrants and other people who don't own land set up "temporary" shacks to live in, many constructed from tin. Many houses also had fences and flower gardens, so these temporary homes actually looked pretty permanent!
Many people asked for prayer for jobs. Unemployment is high here, especially for immigrants. Others talked about poor health or sick family members.
A woman named Margaret really made an impression on me. As we walked down the dirt road, she caught our attention because she was singing along to a Christian worship song on the radio. She invited us into her house and showed us how she had been reading her Bible. Her prayer request was to have a clearer understanding when she reads Scripture. Please pray for her, that she will walk closely with the Lord and that the Holy Spirit truly will dwell in her, giving her an understanding of His word.
