Keep Praying for Our Friends in Abidjan

As we get ready to head back to the US for three months, we wanted to remind you of some of the people who've built relationships with over our time here in Abidjan. You've already been introduced to some of them via our blog; others will be new to you. We ask you to continue praying for them even while we're in the US:

Sarao, a Hausa woman I've been visiting with Emily for the past couple of months -- even though she's Muslim, she's open to talking about spiritual matters and listens with interest to stories about Jesus. She understands the concepts of sin, repentence, and prayer, but doesn't fully grasp that Jesus is God or that she can have a personal relationship with Him. She says it's interdit (forbidden) for a Muslim to become a Christian. Pray this precious woman will soon know the Truth!

Alassane, the tailor -- he has been reading some of the gospel of Matthew from the New Testament Emily gave him. One day he asked lots of questions that it's kind of hard to answer even in English ("What does it mean to be poor in spirit? How can you be happy even when you are persecuted?") but we did our best to answer in French. He is growing in understanding -- please pray he will make the desire to follow Jesus whole-heartedly.

O and S, the guards at our old office complex -- both are Muslim, but S has had many spiritual conversations with Deron and other missionaries. He seems to be seeking Truth; however, he is scared of what his family will do if he turns away from the family religion to follow Christ. Please pray S and O will realize their need for a Savior and decide to follow Christ.

Sylvain, Arnaud, and Anderson -- Deron's church buddies, who have been to our house to eat or watch futebol a few times. Pray God will use them and others like them to raise up a new generation of strong, passionate and Biblically sound leaders in Cote d'Ivoire.
