Benin

This week we drove along the coast from Ghana, across Togo (all 35 miles of it!) and into Benin.

In Benin, we visited a village where most of the houses are built on stilts in a lake. It is amazing! There is even a floating market.

Many of the people make their living through fishing. The fishermen divide up the lake into plots, just as if it were farmland. They construct fences made of scrub brush to section off each plot.
We had a great time visiting this very unqiue village.

Separated

Now I am back in Abidjan, but Deron is still traveling through Benin and Togo to visit the rest of the missionaries who live there. He will be back home next Thursday.

Prayer Requests

-- We both caught stomach bugs on the road and have been feeling pretty yucky. Ask for a quick return to good health!

-- Pray for energy and strength as Deron continues to travel. It can get exhausting to be around people all the time, and to have your bones bouncing around on pot-hole-filled roads for hours upon hours.

-- Pray for wisdom as I write up my media stratgies and budgets for 2008. The deadline is May 1!

-- Pray also for me Emily, and Jesse as we continue working on these training materials for West Africa's Engaging and Partnering Churches. It's a huge task!
